Greetings, Office Insider!

Presenting in a meeting used to be as simple as clicking Slide Show in your PowerPoint deck. Nowadays, even though you may not be in the same room as your audience, we believe your flow to present should be as easy and intuitive — clicking the Present in Teams button in PowerPoint is the only step you need to take to present the deck in your Teams meeting!

Preview Features for Insiders

Office for Web: Add Drawings to your documents in Word for the web
One of the most requested features in Word for the web is the ability to insert and edit text boxes and shapes within a document, as well as to annotate on top of pictures with ink. With the new Drawing feature, you now have the ability to create and insert standalone diagrams comprised of shapes, text, ink, and pictures, which opens up a whole new world of possibilities for visually enriching your content!

Office for Mac: Dark Mode in Word
Earlier this year, we released Dark Mode in Word for Windows, and we're thrilled to bring the feature to Word for Mac. As we log long hours on our screens, it has become increasingly important to reduce eye strain and accommodate light sensitivity. Therefore, we've extended the Black Office theme to now include your document canvas as well.

Using this feedback and your telemetry, we have resolved these issues (and more!):

  • In Excel for Windows, we fixed an issue that prevented the Name Manager from opening books with a large number of hidden names.
  • In Outlook for Windows, we fixed an issue that caused users to see copies of all of their sent items in their Outbox folder.
  • In Excel for Mac, we fixed an issue where it could be slow to scroll through certain sheets that had error checking enabled.

Read about these fixes and more in our release notes.
