With an increased focus on collaboration and real-time updates, you can now synchronize changes in your PowerPoint deck whenever they are made, even when the presentation is in Slide Show mode.

Office for Windows: Automatically shorten links for OneDrive & SharePoint files. We're excited to announce the ability to shorten links to OneDrive and SharePoint files automatically. This feature also warns senders when Outlook detects potential file access issues for email recipients.

Office for Windows: Meet the new Action Pen. We're bringing intelligent tools, optimized for core experiences to each app. First up: the new Action Pen in Word, which helps you edit documents with ink gestures.

Office for Windows: Private Annotations in Word. Private Annotations is a way for you to easily create a Private Copy of shared documents for your personal annotations. This allows you the time and space to collect your thoughts, and thoroughly review a document on your own.

Office for Mac: Tell Me in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. The Tell Me feature is now available in some of your favorite apps – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for Mac. The feature lets you enter words and phrases about what you want to do in your favorite programs.

Office for Mac: Insert data from a picture in Excel. With the new Data from Picture feature in Excel for Mac, you can insert data from a screen clipping on your clipboard, an image file from your computer, or your iPhone camera. Save time entering all that data and let Excel do it for you!

Office for iPadOS: Open multiple documents in Word and PowerPoint. Take advantage of the larger screen on your iPad with the new multi-window support in Word and PowerPoint. Open and work on two documents or presentations side-by-side.

Office for iOS: Read aloud in Word. We're excited to share some updates to the Read Aloud feature in Word on iOS. This speech-related feature lets you listen to your Word document on your iPhone or iPad.

Office for iOS and Android: Dictate your documents in Word. The same Dictate command you love in Word for Windows and Word for Mac is now available on your phone. Save time and stay in flow in your documents in Word on iOS and Android.

Using this feedback and your telemetry, we have resolved these issues (and more!):

  • For Mac users, we’ve made several updates in Outlook based on your feedback.
  • In Excel, we listened and brought back Click to Add Mode on Mac.
  • In PowerPoint, we fixed an issue where hovering over the asterisk (*) symbol did not display the username and date of the last person to update the document.
