Reminders: Certification Dashboard Changes and Badge Sharing

Microsoft Learning recently announced the changes to our Microsoft Certification program (see Microsoft Certification: Simplifying the Journey). The announcement noted that the MCP Profile feature and Certification Marketplace will no longer be available after October 31, 2018. All your certification information—transcripts, downloadable certificates, and exam scores—will still be on your Microsoft Certification Dashboard. And remember, Microsoft offers a digital badge as a verified credential that reflects the skills you’ve built. You can choose to share your badge through the Certification Dashboard on any professional profile or network, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media, so hiring managers and recruiters can easily see your achievements. For more information on Microsoft’s digital badging program, check out our badging page.

IT Skills and Salary Surveys Now Open

Researchers want to know how your Microsoft certification has impacted your career.

  • Take action before November 9, 2018! Global Knowledge has opened its 2018 IT Skills and Salary Survey—the largest of its kind in the industry—and you are invited to participate! All contributions are confidential and will help to shed light on industry salaries, in-demand certifications, skill gaps, and the existing career landscape. The survey results help to generate an annual report used by industry insiders, hiring managers, and IT professionals. Completing the survey takes about 12 to 18 minutes. Survey participants receive first access to the report, which will be ready in the spring of 2019. Take the survey, and invite your IT communities to take it, too, before it closes. For United States residents only: Global Knowledge enters those who complete the survey in a random drawing to win one of six $250 gift cards.
  • Certification Magazine conducts an annual survey of salaries associated with IT certifications. Participate in the survey, and share your view on how getting a Microsoft certification has impacted your career. Survey closes November 26, 2018.

Azure Transition Exams Extended to June 30, 2019

By popular demand, we are extending the retirement date for the following Azure transition exams from March 31, 2019, to June 30, 2019.

  • AZ-102: Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification Transition
  • AZ-202: Microsoft Azure Developer Certification Transition
  • AZ-302: Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Certification Transition

Transition exams cover the delta between the skills and concepts required to earn the existing certifications and those covered in the new role-based exams and are an excellent option for anyone who has passed 70-532, 70-533, or 70-535. For example, if you have passed 70-533: Implementing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions, you can take AZ-102: Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification Transition (rather than taking both AZ-100 and AZ-101). Exams 70-532, 70-533, and 70-535 will still retire on December 31, 2018, as originally announced. Find out more about transition exams and their $99 USD price, which varies by country/region.
